Along the top of the album page in period pencil is written:"The people who took Cadwallader from Maysville, KY., because of "underground railway". and along the bottom:"Mr. & Mrs. Anderson (intimate friends of Grandmothers)". I believe Grandmother in this case was Amelia Cadwallader, an abolitionist, early women's rights activist, and friends of Susan B. Anthony. She was also the wife of the photographer
